Recently, it was confirmed by the Call of Duty team that Season 5 will be the last update to offer MW3 Zombies content. This means that Season 6, the final update, won't have anything based on the open-world mode in the ongoing installment.

Modern Warfare 3 Zombies mode was originally introduced last year in early November with the global debut of MW3.

The story of MW3 Zombies started with Season 1 last year featuring a new character Dr. Ava Jansen who's got a secret connection with an iconic Black Ops Zombies character Samantha Maxis. So far, all of the four seasonal updates have indicated that Ava is going to play a very crucial part in the ongoing Dark Aether saga.

Season 5 was previously rumored to be the last update filled with any sort of MW3 Zombies content and now it's been officially confirmed as well.
