Soon after the launch of Warzone Season 1 at 6 am PT on November 14, 2024, players encountered a frustrating issue with the armor plate animation looping indefinitely. This glitch can disrupt gameplay, potentially causing players to lose fights and be sent back to the lobby. That said, the developers quickly acknowledged the issue on their official X account, assuring the community that they are actively investigating it.

This article explores the circumstances in which the looping effect occurs and how it can impact gameplay.

When do you face the looping armor plate animation issue in Warzone?

According to the developers' post, the armor plate looping effect can occur when attempting to replace armor plates after performing actions like sliding, mantling, or reviving teammates. The issue arises when players try to repair damaged armor: usually, a brief animation plays when the armor is replaced.

When the glitch occurs, this animation loops continuously, preventing one from performing any actions besides movement. This means players cannot shoot while the animation is stuck in a loop, which can prove critical during combat.

Sliding is one of the most frequently used movement mechanics in Warzone. It is essential for quickly moving to cover, engaging enemies, or evading attacks.

The common tactic of sliding while replacing armor plates is now especially risky. For instance, if a player’s armor is damaged in close-range combat, they might attempt to slide to safety and replace their plates. If the looping animation issue triggers at that moment, the player becomes an easy target.

Although mantling and reviving can also trigger the glitch, these actions are less commonly paired with armor replacement, so the impact isn’t as significant.

Given Warzone's recent integration with Black Ops 6, which introduces various innovative features like omnidirectional movement and new Black Ops 6 weapons, some issues are to be expected. Fortunately, the developers have acknowledged this promptly.

The issue can occur in any game mode or map currently available in Warzone: Battle Royale (Urzikstan), Resurgence (Area 99), and Plunder (Urzikstan).

While there’s no confirmed timeline for a fix, the developers have assured players that they are investigating the issue and have added it to their official Trello board. A patch can likely be expected soon.
