Warzone recently deployed a minor patch on January 13, 2025, to address certain in-game issues. While the major problem of cheating and hacking remains unresolved, the patch fixes a frustrating issue where the game would crash randomly during matches. This issue had even prompted developers to temporarily suspend SR and timeout penalties for disconnections from Ranked Play matches.
The patch also implemented some other improvements. Below is a detailed breakdown of the fixes brought along by the Warzone patch notes dated January 13, 2025.
Warzone January 13 patch fixes key gameplay issues
In the recent minor update, the developers addressed five key issues reported by players. The most frustrating and disruptive one was the crashing and freezing problem that occurred during matches, severely affecting the gameplay experience.
Although the developers identified the crash issue quickly, it took a few days to roll out a patch to resolve it. Additionally, the update fixed several minor issues, such as incorrect bullet trajectory for the AMR Mod 4 (a powerful sniper rifle in the game) and glitches with HUD icons in the Red Light Green Light LTM.
Here are all the fixes included in the Warzone January 13, 2025, patch notes:
- Fixed an issue where loading screens were causing instances of freezing or crashing.
- Fixed an issue with bullet trajectory on the AMR Mod 4.
- Fixed an issue in Resurgence where a player dying out of bounds would lose functionality of their field upgrades and killstreaks.
- Fixed an issue where models weren’t visible for ammo boxes, self-revives, and throwing knives.
- Fixed an issue where players would not have a death icon when dying to Red Light Green Light.
After the patch went live, the developers addressed an additional issue that was not included in the patch notes. They informed players about this fix through a post on their official X handle. The detail of the fix is mentioned below:
- Deployed a fix where vehicles will no longer occasionally disappear for some clients during gameplay in Multiplayer.
While the patch was released to address major issues, it has inadvertently caused a new problem. Many players are reporting that matchmaking in both Black Ops 6 Multiplayer and Warzone is completely broken, with no matches being found.
The developers have acknowledged this issue with a disclaimer stating:
"As we roll out the current update, players may temporarily notice longer-than-usual matchmaking times."
Since the issue has already been addressed, it is likely related to server adjustments following the patch rollout. Players are advised to remain patient, as the matchmaking problem should be resolved soon.
