FaZe Clan has requested Activision to reconsider its decision to shut down the Call of Duty mod H2M. The aim of this mod was to remaster 2009's Modern Warfare 2 for PC players, including introducing multiplayer modes and a classic Prestige system, through the Modern Warfare Remastered title.
However, the project had to be shut down a day before its launch on August 16, 2024, following a cease-and-desist order from Activision. On behalf of many fans, the founder of the FaZe clan, Ricky Banks, aka FaZe Banks, has urged Activision to reconsider its decision regarding the mod H2M.
On an X post on @FaZe, Banks stated that FaZe are begging Activision to reconsider the decision to shut down the mod and mentioned,
"We are begging that you guys reconsider this decision. To be clear, we have zero involvement in this project outside of being massive fans. We were excited to produce an ILLCAMS on the H2 mod. Their team made it a requirement to purchase the original MW2 Remastered published by YOU GUYS."
He added that it is harmless fun and acts as community building, which Call of Duty desperately needs. Furthermore, they were excited to produce ILLCAMS on this mod.
