Call of Duty 2027 will reportedly be developed by Sledgehammer Games, the studio responsible for 2023's Modern Warfare 3. However, according to the latest leak by @TheGhostOfHope, the game will not follow the two-year cycle like the last Modern Warfare saga. More details regarding the game have also come to surface, and it's safe to say that the return of Advanced Warfare is becoming a possibility.

Read on to learn more about Call of Duty 2027 and what we know so far.

Call of Duty 2027 is reportedly not a year-two game

According to the latest leak, Call of Duty 2027 will not be a year-two title. Previously, we saw Sledgehammer Games develop Modern Warfare 3, which was a sequel to 2022's Modern Warfare 2 and followed the two-year life cycle. However, it appears Activision is changing the scenario in 2027.

It has already been leaked that Call of Duty 2025 will be a Black Ops title, and it will follow Black Ops 6, which was released this year.

Thereafter, Infinity Ward is set to take the lead and bring the next Modern Warfare title, which is presumably Modern Warfare 4. Based on the two-year life cycle, the next title should be another Modern Warfare game.

However, the era of Modern Warfare and Black Ops could be put on hold, with Advanced Warfare possibly returning in 2027.

The leaker has also shared that the potential Advanced Warfare might be a prequel, although it will be a second part of the series. We will update our readers when more information comes to light.
