Gestures, also known as Emotes, are rumored to return in Black Ops 6. According to a report by @ForwardLeaks on X, strings were found in the game files, suggesting that custom gestures will be making a comeback with this year's Call of Duty game. The leaker derived mentions of the feature by data mining Modern Warfare 3 game files, which showed a direct connection with Black Ops 6.

Gestures from Black Ops Cold War are reportedly coming back in Black Ops 6

As suggested by @ForwardLeaks' report, Gestures might be returning in Black Ops 6. For those who are new to the series, Gestures or Emotes are a feature in some Call of Duty games that allow players to express themselves with an action such as waving their hands at another play to say "Hello".

This Call of Duty feature first appeared in the 2015 title Black Ops 3. After the end of a match, the game would present a screen showing the top three best players in the match, called the Winners Circle. When this screen appears, these players could taunt and use emotes for everyone in the lobby to see.

This feature received a major rework in Black Ops Cold War, which came with a Gesture Wheel, allowing players to gesture during a match as an alternative to voice chat. Players could often use gestures to relay messages such as "Thank You", "Sorry", "Negative", "Need a Ride", or more.

Unfortunately, the Gesture Wheel was last seen in Vanguard and didn't make it to the newer Call of Duty games such as Modern Warfare 2 and Modern Warfare 3. However, based on recent leaks, it appears that the Gesture Wheel will return in Black Ops 6 and will again allow players to communicate with others in the team in a way they haven't been able to in the past few entries.

That said, please note here that the details in the article were derived from a leak and hence, must be taken with a grain of salt.
