It seems an iconic prison location from 2010's original Black Ops might return this year with Black Ops 6 Multiplayer. A keen-eyed player recently noticed similarities between a BO6 area showcased during the Black Ops 6 reveal event on Sunday's Xbox Showcase and a Campaign prison location, Vorkuta, seen in the Treyarch's first Black Ops installment more than a decade ago.

This article will dive a little deeper into the latest rumor surrounding the return of Vorkuta as a Multiplayer map in Black Ops 6.

Note: Players are advised to take early rumors and speculations with a grain of salt unless there's an official confirmation from developers. Additionally, several aspects of this article solely reflect the writer's opinions.

Vorkuta prison from BO1 might return as a Multiplayer map in Black Ops 6

Treyarch recently shared tons of details on the upcoming FPS premium during the deep-dive session as part of the Xbox Showcase on June 9. While mentioning new changes coming to the game, the developers presented brief sequences from the locations players will witness in the story mode.

Interestingly, one specific area caught the attention of a curious CoD player. X user @0Stark24 shared a post comparing the Black Ops 6 Campaign location, seen in the deep-dive trailer, with a prison camp named Vorkuta from 2010's Black Ops 1. According to their prediction, Vorkuta might come back this year.

A thorough look at the images from both the areas in BO6 and Black Ops 1 possibly implies the location seen in the upcoming title's story mode might be Vorkuta. However, this is just speculation for now.

Another possibility is that the Vorkuta-based mission in Black Ops 6 may indicate its return as a Multiplayer map. The developers have already confirmed that BO6's Multiplayer maps take place after the game's Campaign and they have their own stories as well.

It looks like Vorkuta's appearance in the single-player experience will carry over into BO6's Multiplayer as well where players may witness it as a proper map for various modes. However, this should be taken with a grain of salt unless there comes an official update.

For the uninitiated, Vorkuta was part of a Campaign mission of Black Ops 1 where protagonist Alex Mason tries to escape the prison with the help of Reznev and other laborers of the prison camp.
