Recently, a Call of Duty fan went back to Infinity Ward's thread on Reddit, posted before the release of Modern Warfare 2. The thread was created by Infinity Ward back in 2022 to take the community's feedback based on their game's beta. In the thread, the highest upvoted comment summed up everything that the community wanted. However, the user was surprised to see that Infinity Ward had barely listened to any of the feedback that was brought up on the thread.

So, CoD fan took to X to share their findings. Here's what @notblametruth stated in the post,

"Got bored and went back to the Modern Warfare II 2022 beta feedback Reddit thread that Infinity Ward STARTED. This the most upvoted comment and they didn't do 99% of it LMAO."

After going through the most upvoted comment, they noticed that Infinity Ward failed to address most of the concerns that the community brought up. They claimed that the developers didn't implement 99% of the changes that fans demanded back then.

Soon, others followed suit on the X post and shared their two cents on the findings of @notblametruth.

A fan who goes by the username @tyler_homerding commented on the post saying,

"Truly the worst cod without a doubt".

According to them, Modern Warfare 2 (2022) is the worst Call of Duty title to date, no questions asked. Although they did not dive into the reasons behind calling Modern Warfare 2 the worst Call of Duty game ever, it is likely because developers did not address the concerns that the community brought up.

Considering people's responses, this sentiment seemed to be shared by many others of the community. Another user @snoochgaming commented,

"This just shows how TERRIBLE Infinity Ward really is at making a good game. they never listen to feedback and they think that THEY know what the people want YET they know NOTHING and don’t even care to listen. I hope we dont see a game by them for years. Trash devs".

They mentioned that Infinity Ward is "terrible" at making a good Call of Duty game. They added that the studio never listens to the feedback of their fans and pretends to know what the players want when in reality they do not and go against the wishes of the community. Finally, they stated that they don't even want to see an IW Call of Duty soon, calling the developers "trash".

Another fan pointed out that while not everything about Infinity Ward was bad, even their campaigns were "becoming mid". @SMT_Canada commented,

"It feels like I’m only playing IW’s games for the campaign now, and even those have been becoming mid at best".

According to them, Infinity Ward's campaign modes seemed to be the only decent thing they were. But they also added that the quality of their campaign has been deteriorating as well.

As the bashing of Infinity Ward continued, others in the post changed the direction of the conversation to instead praise Sledgehammer Games, the lead team behind Modern Warfare 3 (2023).

@BFlesher5 commented,

"Sledgehammer did literally all but 3 of these, it's why I've enjoyed cod multiplayer for the first time in 5 years".

They compared Infinity Ward to Sledgehammer Games, stating how the latter fixed almost all the concerns that were brought up in Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare 2 beta feedback thread. They declared that this was the first time in five years that they have enjoyed playing a Call of Duty multiplayer mode.

This was complimented by another user. @HenRevans further complimented Sledgehammer, saying,

"It's crazy what happens when you actually listen to players lmao, but I agree MW3 is the best cod since 2019".

They agreed with @BFlesher5's comment claiming that Call of Duty can be fun when the developers listen to the community feedback, which they did with MW3. They also believe that Modern Warfare 3 is the best Call of Duty game ever since IW rebooted Modern Warfare (2019).

Yet another user praised Sledgehammer Games for listening to the community. Here's what @Mathiasxd1485 had to say.

"The fact that SHG literally did almost everything in MWIII proves that Infinity Ward feeds on its own ego."

They mentioned that Sledgehammer Games rectified almost everything that was an issue in Modern Warfare 2 (2022), stating that Infinity Ward feeds its ego and doesn't listen to what the community wants.

The final nail to the coffin was a comment @SlammedBySpears that summed up the entire conversation in a few words. They said,

"Crazy how Sledgehammer, despite having a minimal amount of time to work on it, created an infinitely better CoD game compared to IW. IW seriously doesn't listen to anything"

Right off the bat, they praised Sledgehammer Games for creating a far superior Call of Duty title than anything IW ever created, despite not having sufficient time in their hands.

For context, Modern Warfare 3 (2023) was released immediately the year after the Modern Warfare 2 (2022) release. Finally, they added that IW's refusal to cater to the needs of the player base is why their games aren't liked by the community anymore.

Call of Duty fans despise Infinity Ward for not listening to community feedback with Modern Warfare 2

Infinity Ward, the lead team behind Modern Warfare 2 (2022) has been constantly criticized for not listening to their community. Recently, a fan found an old post by IW on Reddit that asked the players for feedback on the Modern Warfare 2 beta.

To their surprise, the developers had barely listened to any of the concerns that were on the post, despite creating a thread specifically to find out what the fans had to say about Modern Warfare 2.

Upon sharing their findings on X, the community joined in on the conversation and expressed their thoughts. Most of the comments claimed that the team at IW has lost its charm and makes games that the fanbase doesn't even want, citing Modern Warfare 2 as one of the recent examples.

However, not everything was gloomy on the post, as the negative comments for IW were taken over by praises for Sledgehammer Games instead.
