Ex-professional COD player turned content creator, TeeP, recently called out Call of Duty for the changes in Warzone Ranked Play. For the uninitiated, Call of Duty recently disabled live pings in Ranked Play. This not only took TeeP by surprise but it also seemed to have upset him. With the rising instances of cheating and the live pings being disabled in the mode, TeeP had to say the following:

"Honestly a great change for Ranked, but they are nerfing us while cheaters are rampant".

TeeP mentioned that he was in favor of disabling live pings in Ranked Play. That said, he was seemingly upset about the fact that the devs decided to disable it during a phase with a massive surge of cheaters in the game. TeeP even goes so far as to call it a nerf for the legit players.

TeeP slams Call of Duty for disabling live ping in Warzone Ranked Play amid a surge of cheaters

As established, TeeP was not completely happy with Call of Duty's decision to disable live pings in Warzone Ranked Play. In fact, he was upset that the developers decided to rid of the feature at a time when cheaters are dominating Ranked games.

The argument for this is actually quite simple. Cheaters have tools like wallhacks at their disposal, allowing them to see players through opaque structures, and easily take them out.

To add to that, with the feature now disabled, it acted as a nerf for the legit players who could previously coordinate with their teams using this non-verbal form of comm in Warzone Ranked.

For those who are new to Call of Duty, when live pings were enabled, a player on your team could mark an opponent, and if that enemy didn't move much or was not behind a cover, they would show up on your screen with a Diamond marker. These marked adversaries could even be tracked through walls for a brief period.

This was a great way for players to communicate with each other who do not use voice comms. Now, when an enemy is marked, a simple "Danger" ping will pop up at the enemy's last known location.

While the feature was claimed to be overpowered for Warzone Ranked back in the day, its sudden removal caught fans off guard. With the rising cases of cheaters in the game, many, including TeeP have found it upsetting.

Since legit players are now unable to use this non-verbal form of communication to warn their teammates regarding enemies, which would temporarily grant them the ability to track their targets, fans weren't happy — especially now that cheaters have a lot of unfair tools to use to their advantage, making it even more challenging for the legit Warzone Ranked players.
