"This game is not called Karzone" - Warzone fans are divided over whether to nerf Kar98K or not

The Kar98K was recently added to Warzone with the Season 4 update. While many fans are elated with the return of this Marksman Rifle, others claim it is overpowered. This has sparked a debate in the community about whether the gun needs to be nerfed.

In an attempt to know more about the community's opinions on this issue, X user @Warzone_Loadout asked their followers, "Should the Kar98k be nerfed or not?" and fans on both sides shared their views.

A comment by @serrasco7 on the post read:

"Yes. This game is not called Karzone."

According to them, the Kar98K needs to be nerfed in Warzone. Their frustration with the current state of the weapon was reflected in their comment, where they sarcastically stated that the game isn't called Karzone. This sentiment was also shared by others in the community.

Sticking to the notion of nerfing the Kar98K in Warzone, @DeeModifier stated the following:

"100% it needs to be nerfed in some capacity. I think it shouldn't get any aim assist, personally".

According to @DeeModifier, the Kar98K needs to be nerfed in some way. In their personal opinion, they believe that users of the weapon shouldn't get aim assist in any form and should rely on their natural skills to be able to use the rifle.

Adding to the discussion, @ThoseGreenGuys said:

"It should be nerfed every time someone is shooting at me but other than that no."

Their comment introduced some humor to the thread by claiming that the weapon should only be nerfed if someone else is using it to shoot them and not vice versa.

Keeping up with the arguments for nerfing the Kar98K, @GamerXFPS said:

"YES, ITS BORING NOW. We have buy back solos which should promote people to play a little more aggressive.. however because of how broken the kar98 is people are just sitting on rooftops with it. It’s completely killed the pace of big map, it was in a good spot now it’s a**."

They claim that the addition of the weapon has left the gameplay feeling stale and "boring". According to them, the Marksman Rifle is overpowered and it breaks the flow of pace. The user states that after the addition of the weapon, players just camp on top of buildings and get kills. They feel that this has led to the gameplay becoming slow, especially on bigger maps like Urzikstan, and it's just not that fun anymore.

But not everyone was for nerfing the Kar98K in Warzone. A lot of fans came out in support of the current state of the weapon and wished for it to let be.

A fan who goes by the username @brazilwall commented:

"No doesn’t feel as strong as the warzone 1 version , it doesn’t 1 shot from anywhere on the map …. If anything buff some of the other snipers to make sniping competitive."

They don't believe the weapon should be nerfed. To support their argument, they cited the state of the rifle back in Warzone 1, and how the current version is already relatively inferior. The user pointed out that it can't take down enemies with one shot right now, and hence according to them, it is already in a pretty good spot.

However, they believe other Sniper Rifles in the game need to be buffed to make sniping more competitive.

Another fan, @afkbee, came out in support of not nerfing the gun:

"They just need to balance other weapons so there’s some variety that can counter it at long range. Right now you’re forced to use regardless of your play style."

They mentioned that instead of nerfing the Kar98K, developers should focus on balancing other weapons in the game so that the rifle can be countered, especially at longer ranges. According to them, the game currently doesn't feature any good counter options to the rifle, forcing fans to use the weapon, irrespective of how they play the game.

@8XSBChampCW gave a more succinct explanation of why they thought the weapon didn't deserve the nerf:

"No, It just feels OP because they nerfed literally every other long range option. Just looking at trends it will 100% get nerfed, even though i think it’s fine the way it is and they should just improve other guns."

According to them, the weapon only feels overpowered because the developers have nerfed every other long-range weapon in Warzone.

They further added that despite their acceptance of the rifle as it is, they believe the weapon is going to get nerfed in the future, going by trends. Nevertheless, they suggested that the developers should focus on improving other long-range weapons, rather than nerfing the Kar98K.

The Kar98K was considered a well-balanced weapon back in Warzone 1. However, when it was launched in the current-gen games, fans were divided about it.

Some players were disappointed as it wasn't as powerful as in the first iteration of the game.

On the other hand, many fans claimed that the new Kar98K is too overpowered and needs to be nerfed.
