The Free for All mode in Black Ops 6 is a unique and challenging mode where players battle it out to get the most kills. According to the official CoD blog, by default, getting 30 kills awards you the victory. Therefore, the player who secures 30 eliminations first takes the win home. However, according to Redditor u/Eye_Of_Apollo, this has not been the case with them.
The Reddit user took to the platform to share their recent experiences with the game mode. Their narrative included repeated instances where they would secure 30 kills and yet, would still lose the match.
"I have lost 9 out of last 10 times I have scored 30 points and ended the match with the final kill. This has literally NEVER happened in 20 years of playing Call of Duty Free For All. Not once."
The player also attached an image showing how they've managed to win a Free for All match in Black Ops 6. However, the word 'lies' was written all over it, making it evident that they were not pleased with the results. The incident felt rather demoralizing for the CoD enthusiast who has been playing the games for over a decade.
User u/Jammin188 weighed in on the discussion suggesting that the game does not have appropriate counting systems across different game modes. They believed that the system missed elimination entries or other important metrics:
"I swear, they do not have properly functioning counter systems in this game across the board. So many misses for various things."
Furthermore, u/Raydeeoo0818 added that they too had faced a similar problem. The player revealed that they've lost a plethora of games due to this issue which really hurt their overall ratings in the game:
"This has drove me nuts since season 1 launch. I am now 200 games below .500 and I don't know why they haven't fixed this yet."
While some players shared their experiences, others attempted to provide a temporary solution. Redditor u/toucan_sam17 suggested to OP that they should take a short break from Black Ops 6 and play a different game until a patch arrives.
Finally, u/Kishankanayo felt that the issue was a bug that was entirely related to something else. The user hypothesized that the developer did not want a game to end when someone secured 30 kills in a row. Therefore, they may have introduced some sort of buffer that may have been poorly implemented.
Is the Free for All issue in Black Ops 6 common?
The Free for All issue where players lose the game despite securing 30 kills seems rather prevalent. Multiple players have revealed that they end up losing games after finishing at the top such as OP in the post discussed above as well as another Redditor by the name u/drBipolarBear.
The reason for these losses is most likely a bug that hasn't been patched. Treyarch is yet to announce any fixes or acknowledge the issue. Bugs and glitches are common to Black Ops 6 multiplayer and other game modes. However, in time, it should catch the developer's attention much to the relief of the fans.
