A new potential bug in Black Ops 6 Zombies causes the game to crash when using the Void Sheath Major Augment with the Aether Shroud Field Upgrade. The crash reportedly occurs when players activate Aether Shroud while wielding the Bastard Swords. MZC, a popular Black Ops 6 Zombies streamer, discovered this glitch accidentally during a livestream where it happened multiple times.
This article explains the bug in detail, mentioning how the game may crash when using the Void Sheath in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
The game may freeze when using the Void Sheath in Black Ops 6 Zombies
The Void Sheath is a Major Augment for the Aether Shroud Field Upgrade, designed to increase the duration of Aether Shroud when you secure kills with a melee weapon. The Bastard Swords are an ideal choice for this augment, as their efficiency in killing zombies makes them highly effective. On the Citadelle des Morts map, where the Bastard Swords can be acquired, using this augment is particularly advantageous.
MZC, a popular streamer, attempted this strategy during his livestream. While using the Void Sheath with the Aether Shroud Field Upgrade, he activated it and began gathering kills with the Bastard Sword. However, after a few kills, the game froze completely, leaving him unable to continue. This issue occurred repeatedly during his stream, suggesting a potential bug that caused the game to crash.
This glitch might be linked to the latest update released on January 3, 2025, at 9 am PT. The update addressed a previously reported issue where sword damage was reduced when using the Void Sheath augment. It is possible that while resolving this issue, a new bug was unintentionally introduced, causing the crash.
To avoid this problem, players are advised to replace the Void Sheath augment with alternatives like Group Shroud or Burst Dash until the issue is resolved.
This potential bug occurs only when all the specific conditions are met, but it is a frustrating and significant issue that can possibly crash the game. Given its impact, it is highly likely the developers will address and resolve it swiftly.
The latest update also brought notable changes to swords, buffing all variants (including their elemental versions), and thus making them more effective in combat. Additionally, the update introduced a new limited-time mode called "Dead Light, Green Light" as part of the Squid Game 2 event.
