How to possibly fix the Warzone "Detrick-Lester" error?

Warzone "Detrick-Lester" error is fairly easy to fix if the problem lies on your end. However, before you start with the fixes, ensure that Call of Duty servers are up and running. If they are, then you can confirm that the issue is with your config.

Here are some of the most common fixes for the Warzone "Detrick-Lester" error:

Restart your router

The first thing that you should do when you face the error is to restart your router. A proper reboot requires removing the power cable from your device and letting it remain without any power for at least ten seconds. Then, plug the cable back in to power up the router.

A restart will reset the cache of your router. This can potentially fix a lot of network issues, including the Warzone "Detrick-Lester" error.

Verify your game files

If your Warzone files are corrupted, the server will automatically deny your client from connecting. In that case, you will need to repair your broken files. Fortunately, both Steam and Battle.net have streamlined this process.

Here's how to do it:

Steam

  • Go to your Steam Library.
  • Right-click on the game.
  • Select Properties.
  • Click Installed Files on the left section.
  • Select Verify integrity of game files.

Battle.net

  • Launch Batte.net.
  • Click on Call of Duty HQ.
  • Select the cogwheel near the 'Play' button.
  • Click on 'Scan and Repair'.
  • Confirm the process by clicking on 'Begin Scan'.

Change your DNS servers

If verifying game files didn't do it for you, it is advised to change your DNS servers. It is recommended to use either Google's 8.8.8.8 DNS or Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1.

After implementing these settings, simply restart your system, including your router, and the error should go away. In case that did not resolve the issue, check out the next solution.

Flush DNS cache

Once you have tried everything above and the error wasn't resolved, it is time to flush your DNS cache. Here's how you can do it:

  • Open Command Prompt on your Windows 11 or 10 machine.
  • Type in "ipconfig /flushdns" without the quote.
  • Hit 'Enter'.

That's it. If you followed the steps correctly, you will be presented with a message stating "Successfully flushed DNS resolver cache". This can potentially rid of many network issues such as Packet Bursts, Latency Variation, and more.

That covers all the known possible fixes for the Warzone "Detrick-Lester" error. If these fixes didn't work for you, it is advised to contact Activision support team for further assistance.
