Warzone doesn't seem to be ready for Verdansk and fans agree. Call of Duty previously announced that the beloved map Verdansk would return to Warzone in 2025. However, several fans agree that bringing the map alone won't bring back the title's glory days and the game must undergo significant changes to make Warzone great again.

Some fans on Reddit recently discussed the issues with Warzone and the changes they would like to see when Verdansk returns. All of them agreed that the Battle Royale needs to shift its trajectory.

Read on to learn about the changes that fans would like to see in the game with Verdansk.

Call of Duty fans discuss changes they would love to see in Warzone with the return of Verdansk

On the CODWarzone subreddit, u/TheEscortGamer shared a list of changes they would love to see in Warzone with Verdansk's return. The post gained the attention of many others in the community and all decided to share their takes on the game.

However, the discussion mostly revolved around u/TheEscortGamer's post. Here's the list of all the changes that the OP stated that they would like to see in Warzone with Verdansk:

  • Inability to see into dark rooms/windows.
  • Vertical OG Buy Station menu.
  • Self Revive sound cue (added, removed, and has never returned).
  • Perk that smokes when being knocked... (why assist players that make a mistake in a BR when we've already got self-revive?)
  • Good Buy Station spawns.
  • OG WZ1 crate humming (Part of WZ's personality)
  • Guns like EM2, C58, and Amax (heavy hitter but needs control and then weaker guns with less recoil like the Kilo so we can have a mix-up of metas)
  • Allow at least 1 Bunny Hop (amazing mechanic in WZ1)
  • No more jump fatigue (MW19/WZ1 was perfect)
  • High Alert to show direction again (If one-shot snipers are staying, this is needed)
  • New Gulags every season. (These gulags are boring)
  • FLOATING LOOT!!! This loot system just isn't it... constant overlapping issues, loot phasing into walls and through floors, and being unable to pick up items getting stuck. This RARELY happened to me during Warzone 1 and this happens almost every game on the current WZ
  • UAV not showing non-Ghost players.
  • Getting stuck jumping through windows.
  • Specialist event (Nakatomi).
  • Fun modes, Iron Trials, Titanium Trials, Buy Back Solo-Quads, Juggernaut Royale.

The fan emphasized a lot of changes, from bringing back fun limited-time game modes to weapon balancing changes for a varied meta in the title. Most of these changes, if made, would result in a gameplay experience that would be quite similar to the original Warzone with Verdansk.

One of the fans also commented on the post stating their list of changes, and most members seemed to agree with it as it was the most up-voted comment on the thread. Here's what u/southshoredrive would love to see in Warzone when the map Verdansk returns:

  • Contract bonuses.
  • Use guns while skydiving.
  • Remove Redeploy Balloons and bring back WZ1 vehicles.
  • Make Recon Contracts exactly like WZ1 also with the one you can infinitely do on the train.
  • Every heavy sniper should one-shot at any range.
  • Remove some of the public events, basically all of them besides Jailbreak and Restock.
  • Adding to your OG Buy Station point, can they please make everything infinite again?
  • Make the player count 150 (just felt so much better, and it was harder to buy teammates back, and deaths felt like they mattered more when Gulag Tokens weren’t in the game)
  • Remove ground loot perks, just adds bloat and people end up having 10 perks
  • Remove Wildcards. Overkill should be a Perk, not a Wildcard especially. You used to have to pick between Ghost or Overkill, now everybody can spawn in with two weapons and Ghost.
  • Remove satchels except for Armor Satchels.
  • Remove the Utility box, more unnecessary bloat.
  • Make RPG and explosives in general good against vehicles again, paired with a vehicle meta instead of redeploy balloons would be so fun and it’s just how it used to play
  • Way faster parachute deploy times like there used to be, actually all movement just feels worse in general now.

u/southshoredrive brings one of the most interesting points to the list of changes and that is the ability to shoot while parachuting. It was one of the features back in the day that separated Warzone from its competition. The user also brought up the issue of Overkill Wildcard.

Previously, players had to pick between Overkill (which allows them to wield two Primary weapons) or use Ghost (UAV cannot detect if on the move).

Now, however, players can wield both benefits due to Wildcards. In the game, a player can simply equip the Overkill Wildcard, allowing them to use two Primary weapons and at the same time they can use the Ghost Perk as usual.

While these were gameplay issues, another user highlighted some of the technical aspects of the game that need improvement. Here are the changes that u/saledan would like to see:

  • Reduce server desync.
  • Increase server stability (high latency, packages lost, sudden crashes..etc...).
  • Fix non-existent audio of enemies running behind you.
  • Solve cheaters issue.

One of the major issues the game faces is the abundance of cheaters. In fact, many professional players have also brought up the problem of cheating. The in-house anti-cheat system called Ricochet isn't capable enough of doing the necessary, which is preventing cheaters from playing the game in the first place. This has been a major concern for fans and has ruined the experience for numerous players. Hence, when Verdansk returns, fixing these issues will be paramount.

These are the most highlighted changes throughout the post and if Warzone wants to go back to its roots with Verdansk, these changes would certainly help the game become great again.
