Treyarch Studios is introducing Augments in Black Ops 6 Zombies for the round-based Zombies modes on the Liberty Falls and Terminus Island maps. Unlike iconic elements, such as Wonder Weapons and Salvage, Augments are new, which means players must understand the details of this customization feature in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
This article provides the necessary details on Augments in CoD Black Ops 6 Zombies 2024 and how they affect the round-based gameplay.
Augments in Black Ops 6 Zombies explained
Simply put, Augments in Black Ops 6 Zombies are designed to create a deep progression path while offering players the ability to delve into research that benefits their playstyles. They provide a rich and innovative customization experience, allowing players to research between matches and unlock Augments for every Perk, Field Upgrade, and Ammo Mod.
For each Perk, Ammo Mod, and Field Upgrade, there's a research path that is accessed in the Pre-game Menus between matches. After unlocking Revelations during the research, one can unlock the true power of each item, that is, a Perk, Ammo Mod, or Field Upgrade. Then, these Revelations take up the form of Augments in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
In Black Ops 6 Zombies, a total of six Augments per item (three Minor and three Major) are available to obtain:
- Minor Augment: It offers a limited advantage to the item while using it.
- Major Augment: It offers a substantial advantage to the behavior of the item while using it.
Out of the six researched Augments, you can fill two of them (one Minor and one Major) to each Perk, Ammo Mod, and Field Upgrade.
During round-based gameplay in Black Ops 6 Zombies, experimenting with all the available Augments, learning how they interact with other ones for Perks, Ammo Mods, and Field Upgrades, and how your fellow teammates use their preferred set-ups, ultimately offers depth to the player's overall experience.
Black Ops 6 Zombies to feature third-person gameplay
With the reveal of an official gameplay trailer of Black Ops 6 Zombies, Treyarch Studios recently confirmed that for the first time in Call of Duty history, any of its Zombies-based games will feature the option to switch from first-person to third-person perspective in round-based matches on both Terminus Island and Liberty Falls.
Allowing players the option of third-person gameplay in Black Ops 6 Zombies will let them see their operators diving, sprinting, and sliding in any direction, thanks to the introduction of Omnimovement.
Before Black Ops 6 Zombies, no Treyarch game under the Call of Duty series has offered the option of a third-person perspective in round-based Zombies modes. Hence, the newly announced change should excite fans.
