Peeker's advantage in MW3 and Warzone is a phenomenon in the shooters that gives the players peeking first to fight an upper hand over those waiting for their enemies to peek. This mechanic isn't just limited to Call of Duty games and can be observed across almost all first-person shooters including Counter-Strike, Rainbow Six Siege, Apex Legends, XDefiant, and more.

It essentially allows the player peeking first to see their enemies earlier than those waiting for their enemies to peek at them.

In this brief article, we'll take a closer look at how Peeker's Advantage in MW3 and Warzone works.

How does Peeker's Advantage in MW3 and Warzone work?

Peeker's Advantage in MW3 and Warzone is quite simple to understand and it has everything to do with how multiplayer games work. Whenever you give an input or press a button in a game, the command from your system is sent to the server. Then from the game's server, it goes to your opponent's client, which displays the actions you made on their screen.

For instance, if you press the button to fire a gun in MW3 or Warzone, your client will send this input to the server, which will then go to your enemies' client, and they will see you shoot. From the moment you press the button to the time it takes to travel to your enemies' screen, there's a lot of latency to be accounted for, such as the network latency and overall system latency.

At every step of this journey from the input to the final output, there are a plethora of minor delays that add up. Hence, if you are peeking at your enemies first, you will be able to see them before they spot you by a couple of milliseconds, which in an FPS game, and especially in Ranked Play matches can be game-changing.

However, Call of Duty mitigates this delay with the sprint-to-fire speed, which can increase the time it takes for a player to bring up their gun after running around a corner.

So how do you use Peeker's Advantage in MW3 and Warzone? The best way to employ it is by slide canceling around corners you are certain your opponents are in. Slide canceling is an extremely fast movement mechanic and by using it, you can get a look at your enemies by couple of milliseconds early, without the need to account for sprint-to-fire speed delay.

Alternatively, jumping around corners while shooting at your enemies is also a great way to surprise them and get the upper hand.
