Purgatory in Warzone is a new LTM (limited-time mode) in Season 6 and one of the new modes alongside Zombie Royale. In it, all players will spawn into the new Rebirth Island variant Hellspawn, which has received several changes in line with The Haunting theme that the new season follows.

On paper, the mode is pretty straightforward: squads will drop into Hellspawn with their loadouts right off the bat and take on several objectives that can be attempted at their own pace, thanks to the infinite respawns. But that's not all; several intriguing additions in this LTM that will definitely appeal to all fans of Warzone.

In this brief article, we'll take a closer look at Purgatory in Warzone and explore all the unique aspects of the mode.

Everything you need to know about Purgatory in Warzone

Purgatory is a sandbox mode, meaning that players are free to complete objectives at their own pace, get kills, and earn XP with their friends until the two-hour timer ends.

  • Insane powerups: Apart from high-tier loot, power weapon blueprints, a plethora of Killstreaks, and more, you also can a ton of unique ability-enhancing Powerups and Special Weapons, which will be making its way to this mode from Arcade and Mutation LTMs.
  • Portals: Purgatory will also feature portals, which will teleport you to a completely random location on the map, including Flying Shipment.
  • Flying Shipment: Before you think Purgatory cannot get any weirder, imagine the map Shipment flying over you throughout the match. Yes, you read that right. Shipment will be floating over the Hellspawn map in this mode and you will be able to access it via parachutes, helicopters, and as mentioned earlier, by stepping into a Portal.
  • Safe Zone: As the name would suggest, in the Safe Zone, you will lose your ability to deal or take damage, so it acts as a resting place for all the Operators in the game. The Safe Zones can be easily found on the map and will appear as translucent domes. When you enter a Safe Zone, the game's camera will switch to third-person and allow you to customize your loadouts, chat with other players, commend others, earn XP, and more.
  • Torment Level: Your Torment Level will rise as you eliminate enemies. The higher the Torment Level, the more XP you'll earn per kill. However, this isn't without any caveats; with a higher Torment Level, you'll also increase your visibility on the mini-map, making it easier for enemies to hunt you down.
  • Scare Packages: Another unique addition to the mode is the Scare Packages. These tiny packages are scattered throughout the map and include some "powerful loot." According to the developers, there will also be some "unexpected side effects". One of the major highlights of these Scare Packages is that they may contain a Terriball, which is one of the most unique items of Purgatory in Warzone.
  • Terriball: Terriballs spawn throughout the map, and as mentioned earlier, can be also found in the Scare Packages. They can be shot at, meleed, and kicked by running into them, which will send them flying in the air. If it hits an enemy, they will be instantly eliminated.

These are all the unique aspects of the mode Purgatory in Warzone. The mode is now live in the game and is part of The Haunting events.

How to unlock secret Gore Canon Blueprint in Warzone Purgatory

To unlock the secret Gore Canon Blueprint in Warzone Purgatory, you must reach Torment Level 5 and survive for 5 minutes. This is not going to be an easy task as there are pros as well as cons associated with the Torment Level of Purgatory in Warzone.

As your Torment Level increases, so does your presence on the map. While you'll be getting additional XP per kill, you also become more vulnerable to other players in the lobby.

To increase your Torment Level in Purgatory in Warzone, you must get kills, be it by taking down Operators or Mercenaries. When you reach Torment Level 5, all players in the match will be able to see you, even through walls. So how do you go about it? There are two simple ways to survive the 5 minutes after reaching Level 5.

First, get a squad to help you out. Using this method, you can survive longer in the game, allowing you to earn the Blueprint easily.

However, if you are a solo player, it is going to be a lot more challenging. In that case, there's the second method, which requires you to purchase a Juggernaut Suit. You can buy a Juggernaut Suit from the Buy Stations for $40,000 in-game cash.

Hence, before you reach Torment Level 5, it is recommended to collect as much cash as possible and buy the required gear. This will greatly increase your odds of surviving the 5 minutes after reaching Torment Level 5.

Once the 5 minutes have passed, you'll unlock the secret Gore Canon Blueprint in Warzone. It is a Blueprint for the RAAL MG, which comes equipped with the JAK Protean Kit, making the weapon extremely lethal in the game. As for the weapon's aesthetics, it covers the RAAL MG in blood and veins, giving it an eerie look, which perfectly fits the horror theme that Warzone Season 6 is going for.

Although CoD is yet to announce the end date for the mode, it will remain in the active map pool for four weeks starting with Season 6's launch. This means that Purgatory in Warzone is expected to end by October 9, 2024. Hence, you have ample time to get the challenges of Purgatory in Warzone done and reap all the rewards.
