The final countdown has begun for MW3 Zombies as it will end with the Season 5 Reloaded update, set to release next week. The mid-season update will mark the end of MW3 Zombies mode, which was introduced last year with the global release of Modern Warfare 3. It was the first time a Zombies experience was added to a Modern Warfare game in Call of Duty franchise history. But now, it's time to say goodbye to MW3 Zombies with a final story mission.

The journey of MW3 Zombies mode will end with a concluding mission in Season 5 Reloaded which is set to launch on August 21, 2024. The update will introduce one final quest for players to complete and wrap up the tale which began with Season 1 last year in Modern Warfare 3's Zombies experience.

Under the final story mission of MW3 Zombies, players will eventually confront the Entity while entering the Dark Aether to disrupt and sever the link between the character of Dr. Ava Jansen and the Entity. Per the official description from a blog, players will experience a "gravity-defying Dark Aether arena, featuring Aetherium launch pads and an all-new boss."

Moreover, the end of the Zombies mode with Season 5 Reloaded will also grant three new Schematics to players. Right now, all major details regarding the quest itself are hidden and will be revealed once the update goes live on August 21, 2024.

The Zombies experience to continue in Black Ops 6 after MW3 Zombies ends

Although the Season 5 Reloaded update will bring the final quest for MW3 Zombies players, they can expect to get more Zombies content in Black Ops 6 later this year.

The upcoming new Call of Duty game will feature dedicated round-based Zombies modes with two main maps, Liberty Falls and Terminus Island. Moreover, Black Ops 6 Zombies will bring back the iconic round-based format from past installments like Black Ops Cold War where fans last witnessed this format.
