Over the weekend, the Call of Duty community has seen plenty of leaked content for Black Ops 6. With the developers consistently promising improved gameplay, the hype and anticipation built around BO6 has been pretty solid. However, fans aren't exactly thrilled with the leaked content, with many players expressing frustration and dismay.
In a now-deleted post on X, popular CoD leaker @ForwardLeaks shared a gameplay snippet of Black Ops 6 which showed the in-game visual recoil. Fans aren't particularly impressed, with many comparing the recoil to past Modern Warfare titles.
User @ThisIsYeezuz_ replied to the main thread. After complaining about several aspects of the leaked gameplay, they concluded their grievance with the words:
"Who thought it would be a great idea to convert realistic in a CoD ? And even worst in a Black Ops series."
User @raahhb1 also took to X to express their sentiments, saying that the leaked gameplay is a downgrade from the current titles:
"Mw 2.2 this honestly looks like a step backwards from mw3. 4 years of development huh."
Some players also pointed out the similarities between Black Ops 6 and its predecessor, Black Ops Cold War.
User @SamoaSonz expressed their disbelief regarding this being a different game through a comment:
"You can’t tell me this ain’t CW 2.0"
@Arkangel_61 also had the same observation, particularly with the weapon reloads:
"Man I don’t like that it has Cold War reloads."
Meanwhile, some fans think that the bad visual recoil is influenced by several factors, including the lack of attachments, the platform it was played on (jailbreak PS4), and player control.
Under the same thread, @ittzfallen pointed out:
"The person playing BO6 is actually horrid, the recoil won't look like this when you know how to control recoil."
User @DaviDavirost797 also remains optimistic, citing several reasons that could have affected the recoil in the leaked gameplay:
"Besides, the gun has no attachments, the guy barely knows how to hold the gun's recoil and what's more, we can't see the center of the sights, as it's blocked."
After all, the leaked content is reportedly played on Jailbreak PS4, so fans may likely see some huge improvements once the final game is released. Moreover, both the BO6 early access and open beta are just around the corner and will allow players to get a good feel of Black Ops 6 and judge accordingly.
Fans are unhappy with Black Ops 6 gameplay leaks
Fans are dissatisfied with the leaked gameplay of Black Ops 6, citing multiple issues on visual recoil, map layout, clunky reload, and many more. Before these leaks surfaced over the weekend, the community was hyped about Treyarch and Activision's promise of revamped gameplay.
Based on the leaked content, fans think that BO6 is just a reskin of its predecessor, Black Ops Cold War, with some elements from Modern Warfare titles having been incorporated.
However, with more than two months left before the game's full launch, fans are optimistic that Treyarch will listen to the community's feedback and make the necessary changes.
Fans will also be able to access the games first-hand, as the beta test for Black Ops 6 draws near. The playtest will start on August 30, 2024 (early access), and on September 6, 2024, for open beta.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is slated to launch on October 25, 2024.
