Perk Packages in Warzone come with a unique set of Perks that provide players with additional benefits such as reduced damage from explosives, the ability to run for longer durations, and more. Hence, when they are left on the ground for other players to pick them up, it certainly raises a few eyebrows, and a Reddit user who goes by the username u/JCBsound, had the same doubts.

u/JCBsound posted the question on Reddit for some clues as to why players do so:

"Why do some people perk packages on the ground?"

They mentioned having seen content creators simply leave the Perk Packages behind despite not having one to begin with, and it baffles them.

They added that having some Perks is better than having none at all and asked the game's community to clue them in on such behaviors. Soon, the post gained a lot of attention from fellow Redditors attempting to answer their query and add some interesting insights.

u/abbee26 had a pretty straightforward answer to the Warzone question and is the most-voted comment on the thread. According to them, not obtaining Perk Packages from the ground loot is a pretty common behavior and a bad one at that.

Other users on the thread, however, had a more extensive explanation for the same, and this is what Redditor u/Miao_Mix had to say:

According to them, a lot of streamers leave the Perk Packages behind as they are focusing on getting kills for their viewers. Hence, they do not bother looting items that may not fit their needs. They further explained that these streamers are often in a rush for kills and don't even realize that they have left behind some valuable loot, such as Killstreaks or Self Revives, which are quite important in a Battle Royale game.

Other users on the Reddit thread have also agreed with u/Miao_Mix's response. u/SILENCERSTUDENT_ commented a similar explanation.

u/SILENCERSTUDENT_ states that this behavior is simply a player being lazy. They claim some users loot more excessively but don't pick up on the Perk Packages, even if they provide extra benefits. They implore people who indulge in such behavior and call them out by saying they don't have to go out of their way to loot these packages, as it can be done with a simple button click.

Regarding the streamer angle, u/OneDayIllTellYou elaborates on why content creators leave them behind.

u/OneDayIllTellYou explains that the more time a streamer spends looting, the less time they will spend killing or engaging in fights. As a result, the viewers will not be entertained. Consequently, they will leave, leading to a loss in potential income.

There was, however, another explanation. u/BrewsKii17 believes it might be due to a bug in Warzone.

BrewsKii17 mentions that when you loot a Perk Package from the ground, it will cause your audio to glitch out, resulting in poor audibility and possibly missing out on crucial intel such as footsteps.

However, other users on the thread quickly responded that this was only due to the Flex Perk, and if this particular Perk wasn't present in the package, it was safe to loot.

Most of these comments come from users who have observed such behavior and usually do not participate. But Redditor u/wxox perfectly fits the type of players in question and shares their perspective.

Comment byu/JCBsound from discussion inCODWarzone

They laid out five points as to why they don't loot them. First of all, they mentioned not having the time to check these Perk Packages. Given the frantic pace of Warzone, that is to be expected.

Second, they mention that even if they are fully plated with armor shields, they will get one shot anyway, which refers to the one-shot Sniper Rifles in the game. Third, they claim that the Perk Package will not contain good perks.

Next, they refer to the original Warzone's Caldera map, where one could loot the Perks individually, allowing them to design their Perk Package as they want. And finally, they believe that Perks in Warzone don't play a crucial role and can be discarded.

These comments sum up the entire discussion on why players choose to leave behind Perk Packages in Warzone.
