Isle of Man (Douglas), Oct 3 (IANS) Indian Grandmaster Harika Dronavalli came out unscathed against World No.6 Wesley So, scrambling to a well earned draw in the Isle of Man International Chess here.
Harika (ELO 2542) found herself against her more accomplished opponent (ELO 2782) in a complicated position early in the game itself but managed to steer it towards a draw to pick up a crucial half point.
The Indian player, earlier, won her first round against Rocabado Fernando of Argentina to be on one-and-half points.
"It was a complicated game, with lot of counter play. In the later stage, I thought I had a chance but I could not assess the position clearly and settled for a stalemate. Overall, I am happy with the way I am playing," said Harika.
The Guntur-born player will next take on England's Grand Master Michael Adams.
