Indian Chess: India lose a close encounter to Ukraine

India went down to former Olympiad champion Ukraine by 1.5-2.5 in the World Team Chess Championship, with the lone defeat coming in the fourth board. India slipped to the ninth place in the World Team Championship which is in progress at Ningbo, China. There is big expectation from the Indians who won a bronze medal on maiden appearance in the previous edition at Turkey. In the next round, India face Israel and might be able to dobetter.

Results: Armenia drew Russia 2-2, Egypt lost to USA 0.5-3.5, China lost to Israel 1.5-2.5, India lost to Ukraine 1.5-2.5, Hungary beat Azerbajian 2.5-1.5.
