The seventh day of the ongoing Superbet Classic Romania competition ended on Wednesday, July 4. The Superbet Classic Romania is the second leg of the Grand Chess Tour 2024, which started on June 26, Wednesday and will end on July 5, Friday in Bucharest.
Grandmaster Fabiano Caruana lost his winning momentum and settled for a draw against Indian Grandmaster Gukesh Dommaraju. The other American Grandmaster, Wesley So, almost had Grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattorov but couldn’t convert it to a victory.
The games Anish Giri vs Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Ian Nepomniachtchi vs Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu, and Bogdan-Daniel Deac vs. Alireza Firouzja also ended in draws.
Interestingly, this was the round that had all games ending in draws in the ongoing Superbet Classic Romania. Two players have settled for draws on seven instances so far - Ian Nepomniachtchi and Maxime Vachier Lagrave.
