The penultimate game of the twelve game World Chess Championship will be played today in the Olympic media center in Sochi. Magnus Carlsen with the White pieces would be looking to seal the deal today with a win. The Norwegian needs either a win or two draws in the remaining two games to clinch the title.
We expect Viswanathan Anand fresh from the rest day to put up a good fight, however it would be interesting to see if he will go all out with the Black pieces or wait for the final game on Tuesday to go for a win with the White pieces. All three wins have been scored by White as both the players have been content to draw the game with Black.
It will be a tough decision for the Indian since a loss today will end his hopes of regaining the title, he lives to fight another day in case of a draw, and a win will not only level the score, but also give him time to prepare during the rest day on Monday and get back at Magnus in the final game with White on Tuesday.
