The SEC is the most proven talent hubs in college baseball. The conference has produced many of the sport's biggest hitters and regularly sends players to the draft.

3 SEC college baseball players headed for a Top 10 pick in 2024 MLB draft

#3. Hagen Smith, Pitcher, Arkansas

Hagen Smith is a left-handed pitcher from Arkansas. Smith has been operating at a high level for the past three years and is seen as the best pitching prospect in the SEC for this year's draft.

He plays at a frantic pace, throwing the ball at 94-97 mph and touching 100 with his fastball. Furthermore, his unorthodox delivery regularly baits batters into swinging and missing. Smith utilizes an upper-80s splitter as a change of gear, and while he struggles to find it regularly, it has an intriguing effect when it's on.

According to MLB.com, Hagen Smith will be selected with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2024 MLB draft.

#2. Jac Caglianone, First baseman and pitcher, Florida

Jac Caglianone is undoubtedly the best two-way prospect in this year's draft. The Florida Gators superstar regularly bamboozled the opposition with his prowess with the ball and the bat.

Caglianone is 6-foot-5 and uses every bit of his height to his advantage on the field. The two-way star led Division 1 in home runs last season with 33 and put up another clinic in homers in 2024. He also added regular 90-mph cutters to his arsenal while in Florida.

Scouts believe Caglianone is a top-tier draft talent with the bat and an early rounds pick with the ball. He has all the requisite tools needed to be the next Shohei Ohtani.

According to MLB.com, Caglianone will be selected with the No. 3 overall pick in the draft.

#1. Charlie Condon, Outfielder/Third baseman, Georgia

Charlie Condon is a Georgia Bulldogs star with a reputation for hitting baseball with rare ferocity. He hit an SEC freshmen record of 25 home runs and has been on an upward trajectory ever since.

Condon has since racked up the Golden Spikes Award and SEC Player of the Year accolades. The Georgia star led the entire NCAA Division 1 in the following categories: batting, slugging, OPS, homers, extra-base hits and total bases.

One area of the game that Charlie Condon possibly needs to improve is his skills as a runner. Aside from that, the 6-foot-6 Bulldog should be a handful when he gets the chance at the highest level.

According to MLB.com, Charlie Condon will be selected with the No. 2 overall pick in the draft.
