On Monday, the Tennessee Volunteers were given the No. 1 overall seed for the NCAA Baseball Tournament. The Vols have enjoyed a fabulous season thus far, winning the SEC Tournament but will now be eyeing a deep run in the postseason.

Soon after the NCAA gave Tennessee the top seed in the country, fans had mixed reactions to the news on X.

The Vols are hosting a regional for the third time in four seasons. However, Tennessee has yet to win a College World Series title. Some fans pointed out that the Vols might be in for another season of heartbreak in the postseason.

"Just another year of disappointment headed for poor ol Rocky Top," one tweeted.

Tennessee has reached two of the past three College World Series, but a few appeared to hint that there could be some misfortune lurking for the top-ranked team.

"Sec tourney champ and number 1 seed, double curse for the Vols unfortunately," one added.
"Yay! #1 seed. I mean, what could go wrong." wrote another.

While some fans jumped on the bandwagon to mock Tennessee, others sent their well wishes and congratulated the Vols on getting the top seed.

"Well earned," one user wrote.
"Congratulations on this Achievement," another commented.
