The ACC baseball tournament begins Tuesday and will run through Sunday. Of course, the ACC champion will get an automatic bid into next week's NCAA Tournament. But several ACC teams are not only certain to make the NCAA field but will likely be regional hosts—Clemson and North Carolina most likely. Louisville likely needs a strong performance in the ACC Tournament to clinch an NCAA Tournament berth.

The 14-member ACC eliminates the bottom two teams and then divides the remaining dozen schools into four three-team pods. Boston College and Notre Dame had the worst ACC marks and thus were eliminated.

Pod A includes No. 1 seed North Carolina, No. 8 seed Wake Forest and No. 12 seed Pittsburgh. Pod B is No. 2 seed Clemson, No. 7 seed Louisville and No. 11 Miami. Pod C consists of No. 3 seed NC State, No. 6 seed Duke and No. 10 seed Virginia Tech. Finally, Pod D is made up of No. 4 seed Virginia, No. 5 seed Florida State and No. 9 seed Georgia Tech.

All three schools in each pod will play each other once between Tuesday and Friday. The winner of each pod will then advance to Saturday's semifinals. The winners of those matchups will face off on Sunday.

If a pod has multiple 1-1 teams, the higher-seeded program is considered the winner and will advance to the semifinals. In essence, the lower-seeded teams (5-12) have to win both pod games to advance.

Pod play moves from Tuesday to Friday, with each school facing teams in its pod once. The games will begin at 11 a.m. ET on Tuesday, with No. 7 seed Louisville playing No. 11 seed Miami. The final pod game schedule is at 7 p.m. on Friday, with No. 1 seed North Carolina facing No. 8 seed Wake Forest.

The winners of the four pods will face each other in the semifinals on Saturday, with the games to be played at 1 p.m. ET and 5 p.m. ET. The winners of the semifinals battle on Sunday at noon.

All games of the ACC Tournament will be televised. That said, all games until the finals will air on the ACC Network. The championship game will air on ESPN2.
