For NC State baseball, Selection Monday was a bit disappointing. The Wolfpack hoped they had done enough in the season to be awarded one of the NCAA's top eight seeds. Those teams, by winning regional play, can then host super regional play. The NCAA passed by the Wolfpack, seeding them at No. 10.

Meanwhile, Georgia, despite a first-round SEC Tournament loss was rewarded with a No.7 national seed. Now the Bulldogs and Wolfpack will meet in super regional play, proving which team really did deserve that hosting nod.

Georgia and fearsome slugger Charlie Condon await NC State in super reigonal play in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

Yes, the Wolfpack are playing Georgia in Athens, Georgia in a series that will run from Saturday to potentially Monday. The Bulldogs also won their region, so in a battle of top seeds, the higher national seed, UGA, gains the home-field advantage.

NC State's performances so far

The Wolfpack swept through its region with a 3-0 mark. First, they easily took down No. 4 seed Bryant 9-4. Then, they faced No. 2 seed South Carolina and pulled out a 6-4 win. No. 3 seed James Madison played its way into the regional finals and the Wolfpack took them down as well by a 5-3 score to move on to super regionals.

NC State's odds of clinching the 2024 College World Series title

The Wolfpack are currently drawing odds of around +2300 to win the College World Series. The Wolfpack are essentially in the middle of the group in terms of odds. They're much more likely to win than massive underdogs like Evansville or UConn (running around +10000 to +14000), but also much less likely than relative favorites Tennessee or Texas A&M (around +300).

The Wolfpack are currently around +120 underdogs to win their super regional series with Georgia. That places them in one of the most competitive super regional matchups for betting purposes.

NC State's Super Regional Schedule

Game one of their super regional battle is slated for noon EST on Saturday. That game will be broadcast on ESPNU. Sunday's second game will take place at noon EST on Sunday, with the broadcast slated for ESPNU.

If the Bulldogs and Wolfpack split the first two games, a decisive third game will be played Monday. Neither the game time nor the television coverage for that game has been announced yet.

Georgia's path to this super regional meeting is pretty similar to the Wolfpack's run. Georgia also has gone 3-0 but has played a pair of competitive games. Georgia squeaked past No. 4 seed Army 8-7 to open their regional. They easily got past No. 2 seed UNC-Wilmington 11-2. But in the regional final, No. 3 seed Georgia Tech gave UGA a battle before falling 8-6.
