“Let’s work” - After spending 3 years at Clemson, star pitcher Billy Barlow announces commitment to Florida Gators 

On Friday, pitcher Billy Barlow announced his transfer to the Florida Gators, after spending three seasons with the Clemson Tigers. In a tweet, the righty outlined his excitement to get going with the Southeastern Conference team.

“Let’s work!” Barlow wrote on X, confirming his transfer to Florida.

Notably, Barlow entered the transfer portal after Clemson lost to Florida in the Super Regional. He served as the captain for the Tigers in the 2024 season.

In a tweet on June 12, Barlow thanked his fans and the Clemson program before entering the transfer portal.

“Thank you Clemson friends and fans for the years I have spent here. You are the best and I will never forget you. I have decided to enter the transfer portal. Much love!” Barlow wrote.

Barlow is a great addition to Florida and the pitcher will have the opportunity to take his game to the next level under coach Kevin O'Sullivan. Moreover, the player will get an incredible experience of playing against the top teams in the country, since the competition in the SEC is arguably the most challenging.

Florida is likely to lose some key players in the transfer portal ahead of next season. After the Gators' elimination from the College World Series against Texas A&M, two-way star Jac Caglianone hinted that he might move on from Florida.

The Gators have a habit of reaching the NCAA Tournament, having done so in four consecutive seasons, but are yet to replicate their triumph of winning the CWS title in 2017. With Barlow, Florida will have a good shot at navigating through difficult runs in the postseason.
