The Alabama Crimson Tide secured a spot in the SEC Tournament after a strong regular season. The Crimson Tide finished with a 33-21 record but struggled in conference play to the tune of a 13-17 mark. Alabama was led by a borderline elite offensive unit that ranked 27th out of 295 teams in hits, 35th in batting average, tied for 40th in home runs, and tied for 59th in runs scored.

While their pitching staff was a middle-of-the-pack unit, they did a great job at limiting baserunners and striking hitters out. The Crimson Tide ranked 55th in strikeout-to-walk ratio and 57th in WHIP. Take a look at who they will face in the SEC Tournament below.

Which team will face the Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC Tournament?

While the Alabama Crimson Tide had a strong season, the SEC was filled with elite teams. Their struggles in conference play led them to receive the seventh seed in the SEC Tournament - the highest of five teams that finished with a 13-17 record in conference play.

They will face the South Carolina Gamecocks, who earned the 10th seed in the bracket, at a neutral site in Hoover, Alabama, on Tuesday, May 21. The Gamecocks finished the season with an identical record as the Crimson Tide, as they were also 33-21 overall and 13-17 in SEC games. Alabama took two of three meetings between the two teams in March.

The game will be aired on the SEC Network with the first pitch set for 40 minutes after the conclusion of the SEC Tournament opening matchup between the No. 6-seeded Georgia Bulldogs and No. 11-seeded LSU Tigers. That game will begin at 10:30 a.m. ET.

While the conference tournament becomes double elimination - meaning teams must lose two games to be eliminated - in the second round, that will not be the case on Tuesday. If the Crimson Tide are unable to get past South Carolina, they will be sent home. However, if they are able to win their opening-round matchup, a meeting with the No. 2-seeded Arkansas Razorbacks will await them on Wednesday.

The Alabama Crimson Tide have likely secured their spot in the NCAA Tournament, however, nothing is set in stone. They have not won the SEC Tournament since repeating as champions in 2003. It marked their seventh conference tournament championship in program history.
