Oklahoma Baseball Transfer Portal Tracker 2024: List of all players who've entered the transfer portal

Oklahoma had a 40-21 season in 2024, but ended their season in regional play. The disappointing finish cast a pall on the season, and a few Sooners may use the transfer portal window to move on. While many of Oklahoma's defections are reserves who saw little or no playing time, a few players who have chosen the portal may be important losses. Here's the current OU portal rundown.

David Dean

A 6-foot-6 lefty JUCO pitcher, Dean did not see any action for OU in 2024.

Patrick Engskov

An infielder from Arkansas, Engskov batted just 19 times in two seasons at Oklahoma. He was 3-for-19 with no extra-base hits.

Rocco Garza-Gongora

Garza-Gongora was a versatile defender who seemed to be making an impact with his bat in two seasons at Oklahoma. In 2023, he started games at first base, designated hitter and two outfield slots. He batted .293 that year with three homers and 27 RBIs in 164 at bats.

But Garza-Gongora got just 58 at bats in 2024 and struggled, hitting .224 with no homers. The 6-foot-1 lefty hails from Laredo, Texas, and it'll be interesting to see if he moves closer to home.

Dakota Howard

A highly-touted outfield propsect from Texas, the 5-foot-10 Howard didn't see any action in 2024, but was expected to be a contributor moving forward.

Isaiah Lane

A 6-foot-1 infielder from California, Lane was hyped as an outstanding shortstop prospect coming out of high school. He did play intermittently for OU, starting 15 games as a frosh. Lane hit .347 with six RBIs in 49 at-bats. His walk to strikeout mark of 14 to three was also very impressive.

Maybe the distance from California was a factor in Lane's decision. If so, he should not lack for capable schools closer to home who would be happy for him to join their programs.

Myles Meyer

A JUCO pitcher from California, Meyer pitched just once, working a third of an inning and allowing a hit and two walks, but no runs, with a strikeout.

Jace Miner

A transfer from Wichita State, the left-handed pitcher was 1-0 with a 3.68 ERA in just 7 1/3 innings of work.

Brad Pruett

A 6-foot-3 pitcher from Texas, Pruett threw just 5 2/3 innings over eight appearances with the Sooners. He had a 9.53 ERA and gave up four home runs in that brief span.

Houston Russell

A catcher from JUCO, Russell did not see any action in 2024 with Oklahoma.

Mason Strong

A catching transfer from BYU, Strong was 0-for-8 in 2023 for Oklahoma and did not see any game action in 2024.

Gray Thomas

Thomas was a transfer from TCU who pitched 1 1/3 innings in 2023 for Oklahoma. He did not play in 2024.

Ty Zahradnik

A 6-foot-7 lefty pitcher from Texas, Zahradnik saw no action for Oklahoma in 2024, and will redshirt.
