The SEC dominated college baseball this season, as they have a record 11 teams making the field of 64 for the NCAA Baseball Tournament. They have the top three seeds and four of the top five programs in the tournament. Five different programs from the SEC also were named as regional hosts.
Today, let's take a look at each SEC baseball team that will be competing to make the Super Regional Round of the NCAA Baseball Tournament.
SEC Teams in the 2024 NCAA Baseball Tournament
Tennessee Volunteers
The Tennessee Volunteers are the overall top seed in the NCAA Tournament and are obviously hosting their own regional.
They will host Southern Mississippi, Indiana and Northern Kentucky in the double-elimination bracket for a chance to make the Super Regionals. The Vols secured the SEC Championship on Sunday with a win over the LSU Tigers.
Kentucky Wildcats
The Kentucky Wildcats are also hosting their own regional, as they are competing against Indiana State, Illinois and Western Michigan. Kentucky dominated this season with a 40-14 record and begin their regional matchup against Western Michigan on Friday afternoon.
Texas A&M Aggies
The Texas A&M Aggies are one of the five SEC teams that are hosting a regional and will be going up against the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns, future SEC opponent Texas Longhorns and Grambling Tigers.
The Aggies begin their journey to the College World Series on Friday afternoon against the Tigers.
Arkansas Razorbacks
The Arkansas Razorbacks are hosting their own regional, as they will be battling against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, Kansas State Wildcats and Southeast Missouri State Redhawks. They will begin their conquest on Friday afternoon against the Redbirds.
Georgia Bulldogs
The final team on this list to host a regional will be the Georgia Bulldogs as they are competing against the UNC Wilmington Seahawks, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Army Black Knights. They begin with an intriguing battle on Friday afternoon against Army.
Alabama Crimson Tide
The Alabama Crimson Tide have been doing very well as they are going to be the second seed in the Florida State Regional. They will be competing against Florida State, UCF and Stetson.
The Crimson Tide are going to begin with a game on Friday against the UCF Knights to begin their quest to the College World Series.
Mississippi State Bulldogs
The Mississippi State Bulldogs are going to be competing in the Virginia Regional this year and are going up against the Virginia Cavaliers, St. John's Red Storm and Pennsylvania Quakers in the double-elimination portion of the NCAA Tournament. They will battle the Red Storm on Friday evening.
LSU Tigers
The LSU Tigers lost in the SEC Tournament Finals but were still deemed to be a second seed in the Chapel Hill Regional. The teams they will be competing against to advance will be the North Carolina Tar Heels, Wofford Terriers and Long Island University Sharks. The Tigers take on the Terriers on Friday afternoon.
Florida Gators
The Florida Gators are the third seed in the Oklahoma State Regionals for this year's NCAA Tournament. They will be going up against the Oklahoma State Cowboys, Nebraska Cornhuskers and Niagara Purple Eagles. The Gators begin their journey against the Cornhuskers on Friday afternoon.
Vanderbilt Commodores
The Vanderbilt Commodores will be located in the Clemson Regional as they are the second seed in that section.
They are going to face off against the Clemson Tigers, Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and the High Point Panthers. Their first game will be against Coastal Carolina on Friday afternoon.
South Carolina Gamecocks
The South Carolina Gamecocks (36-23) are the second seed in the NC State Regional as they are going to be paired up with the NC State Wolfpack, James Madison Dukes and Bryant Bulldogs. Their first game is on Friday at 2 p.m. ET against James Madison.
