After its first College World Series title victory, Tennessee baseball is on top of the world. But some within the Vol program are ready to head off in another direction. Here's the rundown on the Vols who have decided to enter the transfer portal.

Matthew Dallas, Pitcher

A 6-foot-5 left-handed pitcher from Memphis, Dallas pitched briefly for the Vols this season. Dallas pitched 17 innings, including two starting assignments for the Vols. He was 1-0 with a 4.76 ERA and whiffed 22 batters.

The loss of Dallas is a bit surprising as the lefty was one of Tennessee's top signees from 2023. Perfect Game ranked him in the nation's top 100 players as a high school senior, and he posted an 0.80 ERA as a high school senior. Dallas hasn't yet announced a destination, and it'll be interesting to see if he sticks close to home.

Zane Denton, Third Base

Denton has certainly had an odd run of things. Last season, he was a Tennessee hero. But after not being with the team in 2024, he is transferring to Austin Peay for his final college season. Denton starred at Alabama for three years before coming to Tennessee. In 2023, he hit 16 homers, including a come-from-behind blast to help Tennessee beat Clemson in the NCAA Tournament.

After going undrafted in the MLB draft, Denton announced a return to Tennessee but found himself off the roster for undisclosed reasons. He's now moving to a low-level Division I program to finish his career, which includes 39 home runs in SEC play.

Wyatt Evans, Pitcher

Injuries have curtailed Evans's time at Tennessee. As a freshman in 2022, the South Carolina product showed promise, posting a 2.25 ERA in 16 innings of work. The lefty fanned 22 hitters in those 16 innings. But injuries have kept him off the mound for the Vols in 2023, and Evans didn't make the roster in 2024.

Evans has already announced his move to home-state South Carolina. If the big lefty is healthy, he could open some eyes with the Gamecocks.

Daniel Parris, Pitcher

Parris was a hometown Knoxville product who redshirted this season for the Vols. A solid prospect, albeit without college experience, it'll be interesting to see where Parris decides to move. Certainly, given Tennessee's massive talent, Parris may have just decided he'd find more innings at another school.
