Oregon State star Travis Bazzana was chosen as a unanimous All-American by the six entities choosing formally recognized baseball honorees. It's just another honor on a career full of honors for Bazzana, an elite power-and-speed player who could be the top player chosen at next week's MLB draft.

Here's a little more on the top five honors Bazzana has won.

#1. Pac-12 Player of the Year

Sure, it's an honor to be conference Player of the Year. But given the seismic shifts in conference alignment, this is the end of the Pac-12. So Bazzana's honor will make him the final recipient of the award.

The Pac-12 awarded its Player of the Year from 1999 to 2024, and before that gave separate awards for the league's North and South divisions. Among prior honorees are Dustin Pedroia and fellow OSU Beaver Adley Rutschman.

#2. Pac-12 Batting Champion

Bazzana was also the final Pac-12 batting champion. With a .429 regular season mark, Bazzana was awarded the title. Again, it's the league's final batting title. Interestingly, Bazzana dipped to .407 with postseason play included which would have placed him second for the title. Sometimes, timing is everything.

#3. Cape Cod MVP

The Cape Cod League is a summer amateur league that allows many significant college standouts to play in a wooden bat atmosphere. Needless to say, Bazzana starred in his 2023 trip to the league. He was named league MVP after hitting .375 for Falmouth.

Among the most historically significant former Cape Cod MVPs are late Yankee catcher Thurman Munson, former pitcher and now commentator Ron Darling, Greg Vaughn, Darin Erstad, Evan Longoria and Nick Senzel.

#4. Baseball American Freshman All-American

Bazzana certainly didn't come on the map from nowhere. He was a star even as a freshman, batting .306 for the Beavers and earning freshman All-American honors. Who else made the team? LSU's Tommy White (who was then at NC State), North Carolina's Vance Honeycutt and Wake Forest's Chase Burns (then at Tennessee) among others.

#5. Oregon State leader (in several categories)

As impressive as Bazzana's overall resume is, nowhere is that clearer than in his rankings for Oregon State's record book. Despite playing just three seasons, Bazzana leaves the school as Oregon State's all-time leader in hits, doubles, runs scored, home runs, walks, total bases and stolen bases.

Setting those kinds of marks in just three seasons attests to the consistent excellent of Oregon State's Aussie import. Bazzana will be hard-pressed to keep up that pace at the next level, but based on draft buzz, many think he can.
