The Texas A&M Aggies partnered with NCAA Baseball in a special concept before Game 3 of the College World Series finals. The selected Aggies players called their younger selves as they awaited the biggest game of their collegiate careers.
The calls focused on the players telling their younger selves to enjoy the ride and leave it all out on the field. The concept was released a couple of hours before the winner-takes-all game against the Tennessee Vols.
How have the Texas A&M Aggies performed in the 2024 postseason?
The Texas A&M Aggies have been phenomenal in the postseason. The program started their postseason run in the Bryan-College Station Regional. There, they defeated Grambling, Texas, and Louisiana to punch their tickets to the Super Regionals.
They beat all three sides with a minimum two scores, and never looked like losing in the Regionals.
The Aggies were drawn against Oregon, with the winner set to get a ticket to the College World Series. Texas A&M dispatched Oregon in two games, winning by 10-6 and 15-9 scorelines to set up a date in Omaha.
At the College World Series, the Aggies defeated the Florida Gators twice and the Kentucky Wildcats to qualify for the finals. Their closest game was their first game against Florida, which they won 3-0, but the rest turned out to be more comfortable victories.
Texas A&M Aggies are one game away from College World Series glory
The Aggies have set up a date against the Tennessee Vols in the biggest game of college baseball at the Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska. They defeated the Vols handily in Game 1 with a 9-5 scoreline. However, the Aggies lost their first postseason game in Game 2 as the Vols roared back with a 4-1 victory.
Hence, it's all to play for in Game 3 at Omaha. Both teams are looking to win their first-ever College World Series, and you can be sure they'll leave it all out on the Field on Monday.
