Tommy White was essential to LSU's late-season rally in 2024. The 2023 national champions didn't have the best of regular seasons this year. However, in the postseason, they managed to sneak into the SEC championship final against eventual national champion Tennessee. In the NCAA tournament, they made it to the Chapel Hill Regional final but fell to the North Carolina Tar Heels.

White batted .330 in 2024, and he equaled his 24 homers from the 2023 season. His on-base percentage was slightly lower than his 2023 numbers (.401 vs .432), but still way above average.

With the MLB Draft approaching, let us now check some teams who could use Tommy White's services.

Three landing spots for LSU star Tommy White in 2024

Miami Marlins

The Marlins lost Luis Arraez to the San Diego Padres and are now the eighth-worst offensive in the MLB. They need a red-hot hitter, and given the current state of their minors system, it seems that they will either need to trade for it or hope to get through the draft.

With the No. 16 overall pick of the draft, they could be looking for Tommy White. Miami is also the team with the worst on-base percentage in the MLB right now.

Minnesota Twins

Few experts consider Tommy White as a sub-top 20 pick, so Minnesota might be an outside shot for him in 2024. However, given that the LSU Tigers didn't have the hottest of seasons this year, the calculus might change for MLB franchises regarding White.

With the 21st pick, the Twins might see White as a pick for the future. His defensive game might make him slip out of the top 20.

Chicago White Sox or Seattle Mariners

The Chicago White Sox and Seattle Mariners are the two MLB franchises in most need of getting bats in 2024. As of now, they're the worst offenses batting average-wise in the league. The White Sox especially need to improve their on-base percentage, which is only better than Miami's at .281.

The Mariners, with the 15th overall pick, could easily take White, while the White Sox might skip him as they have the fifth overall pick of the draft.
