As the new college basketball season approaches in just a few months, Big 12 basketball teams have landed some remarkable young hoopers in the 2024 recruiting class. The 2024-25 season will mark the inaugural season for Big 12 basketball to feature 16 schools, with the inclusion of Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah, and the exit of Oklahoma and Texas to the SEC.

The chase of the recruiting champion in the new-look conference is on, with several programs making major moves in the offseason.

#3 - BYU Cougars

Following the departure of Mark Pope in April, Kevin Young assumed the role of the new head coach at BYU. Young had to deal with seven departures from the previous season and to balance the roster he added three players from transfer along with six new faces at the collegiate level.

Egor Demin, a five-star combo guard from Real Madrid, committed to the program in May, followed by other star prospects Kanon Catchings and Brody Kozlowski. BYU also landed Khadim Mboup, a 6-foot-8 forward from NBA Academy Africa.

Arizona State coach Bobby Hurley aims for a positive start to their life in Big 12 basketball. After a subpar performance last season in the Pac-12, Hurley has recruited hard to build a solid roster for the new season.

Almost every player from the 2023-24 campaign departed the team, so Hurley had to assemble an entire roster from scratch. His recruiting masterclass has seen him pull three talented prospects, including top-10 recruit Jayden Quaintance.

Baylor wins the 2024 recruiting class for Big 12 basketball. Not only that, they also hold fourth place overall per 247Sports. VJ Edgecombe, a consensus five-star SF is No. 5 in the nation and the best player in the state of New York.

Similarly, Montverde Academy graduate Rob Wright is a top player at point guard. The other recruit, Jason Asemota, standing at 6-foot-9, is the third-best player in Arizona.
