The NBA draft has been split up into two nights for the first time, with the second round set to begin at 4 p.m. EDT. The most notable name still on the board after Round 1 is USC Trojan Bronny James.

Bronny is the eldest son of the legendary LeBron James. After one season at USC, he decided to enter the draft but didn't get selected in the opening round. He's expected to be drafted in Round 2, though.

Three landing spots for Bronny James in Round 2 of NBA Draft 2024

#1 LA Lakers

The LA Lakers have always been the frontrunners to select Bronny James. They have the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, which is around the range for Bronny. Los Angeles hired JJ Redick as their new coach, and if they draft Bronny, it gives LeBron even more reason to re-sign with the Lakers.

Bronny James would be able to stay close to his dad and learn from him at the pro level, as well as Redick who could help with his shooting. It's very likely that the Lakers will select Bronny at 55th overall.

#2 Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors have had reported interest in Bronny James, and they hold the first pick of the second round at 31st overall.

"There are other teams that love Bronny. For example, Minnesota, Dallas, Toronto. If it's not the (LA) Lakers, it will be someone else," Bronny's agent, Rich Paul said per ESPN's Jonathan Givony.

The Raptors are a rebuilding team and could take a shot on Bronny James to see if he can develop into a future NBA player. Toronto also has roster spots open so Bronny could play NBA minutes next season and work on his craft.

#3 Boston Celtics

The Phoenix Suns were the other team that had interest in Bronny James but don't have a second-round pick. If Bronny James doesn't get selected by Toronto at 31st overall or Minnesota at 37th overall, the Celtics at 56th overall is a very intriguing spot.

Boston picks one pick ahead of the Lakers and could opt to take Bronny, so Los Angeles doesn't get him. The Celtics also have a deep roster, so there wouldn't be a rush for Bronny to play. He could take a year or two in the G League to develop and learn from some of the best.
