Jayson Tatum became the eighth former Duke Blue Devil to win an NBA championship after the Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks in five games. The Blue Devils had an alumni win the past NBA championship as well.

Duke is one of the most storied college basketball programs ever as the Blue Devils have won five NCAA championships.

#1. Jayson Tatum, 2024

Jayson Tatum played for Duke for one season in 2016-17. Tatum was a star player for Duke as he averaged 16.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game.

Tatum was drafted third overall by the Boston Celtics in 2017 and helped lead Boston to the NBA championship this past season. Tatum averaged 25.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 6.3 assists during their playoff run.

#2. Jack White, 2023

Jack White was on the Denver Nuggets that won the 2023 NBA Finals. He played just 17 games with Denver, averaging 1.2 points and 1.0 rebound and never played a game during the playoffs.

White was a Blue Devil from 2016 until 2020 as he spent four years at Duke. He finished his career averaging 2.7 points and 3.0 rebounds.

#3. Quinn Cook, 2020 & 2018

Quinn Cook is a two-time NBA champion as he was on the Golden State Warriors who won the title in 2018 and then with the LA Lakers who won it in 2020.

Cook played for Duke from 2011 until 2015, and in four years with the Blue Devils, he averaged 11.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists.

Kyrie Irving was a key player in the Cleveland Cavaliers that won the NBA title in 2016. In the 2016 playoffs, Irving averaged 25.2 points, 4.7 assists and 3.0 rebounds.

Irving played for Duke for one season in 2010-11 and averaged 17.5 points, 4.3 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game.

#5. Dahntay Jones, 2016

Dahntay Jones was also a former Blue Devil who was on the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers that won the NBA title. In the 2016 playoffs, Jones averaged 1.1 points in 15 games.

Jones played two years at Duke after transferring from Rutgers. With the Blue Devils, he averaged 14.3 points and 4.8 rebounds.

Battier won two NBA titles in 2012 and 2013, while he was a member of the Miami Heat. Battier had a key role in 2012 as he played in 23 games, while starting 16, as he averaged 7.0 points and 3.2 assists.

#7. Danny Ferry, 2003

Danny Ferry was a part of the San Antonio Spurs that won the NBA title in 2003.

Ferry played at Duke from 1985 until 1989 and averaged 15.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.

#8. Jeff Mullins, 1975

Jeff Mullins was the first former Blue Devil to win an NBA title as he was part of the 1975 Golden State Warriors that won the championship.

Mullins played at Duke from 1961 until 1964, and in three years, he averaged 21.9 points and 9.0 rebounds.
