The University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas, is represented by the Arkansas Razorbacks men's basketball team in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. The team competes in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Arkansas uses Bud Walton Arena on the campus of the University of Arkansas for its home games.

The Razorbacks are a top-25 program all-time in terms of winning percentage (.641), top-20 program in terms of NCAA tournament games played, top-20 program in terms of NCAA tournament games won, top-15 program in terms of Final Four appearances. Despite playing significantly fewer seasons than most major conference programs, they are also top-30 in terms of all-time wins. The Hogs, coached by Nolan Richardson, defeated Duke to win the national championship in 1994. The following year, they made it to the final game but came in second place. Six NCAA Final Four appearances have been made by the Razorbacks in 1941, 1945, 1978, 1990, 1994, and 1995.

As of December 2024, John Calipari was announced as the new head coach of the University of Arkansas men's basketball team. He has signed a five-year contract with the Razorbacks and will be paid a base salary of $7 million per year.

The three-time Naismith College Coach of the Year has spent the last 15 seasons with the Kentucky Wildcats. Calipari is one of the most successful and decorated coaches in college basketball history. He has led 23 teams to the NCAA Tournament and coached 58 players to be selected in the NBA Draft.

Associate Head Coach

Kenny Payne and Chin Coleman are the two associate head coaches in Calipari's coaching staff, as of the 2024/25 season. Kenny Payne, a Louisville Cardinal legend, brings in 20 years of coaching experience on both collegiate and professional levels. He has served as an assistant coach with the NBA’s New York Knicks as well as both the University of Oregon and the University of Kentucky. Chin Coleman has joined Calipari's staff and will be paid $700,000 annually for his services. In the past three years, he has served on Calipari’s staff at Kentucky.

Assistant Coaches

Chuck Martin was named assistant coach and also a recruiting coordinator on May 1, 2024. Martin will be paid $350,000 annually with his role. Before his arrival in Kentucky, he was an assistant at Colorado State, Nebraska, Bradley, Illinois-Chicago and Illinois. Brad Calipari, son of John Calipari, served as Vanderbilt's director of on-court player development during the 2023/24 season before his arrival at Fayetteville.
