LSU star Flau'jae Johnson achieved a milestone this week, surpassing 1,000 career points on Tuesday. Against Charleston Southern at Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Louisiana, Johnson added 18 points to her total as she led the Tigers to a 117-44 win.
In the early minutes of the fourth quarter, the junior guard hit a jumper to eclipse the 1000-point mark. She was on 982 points before the game.

Flau'jae Johnson, a Savannah, Georgia, native, became the 37th player in the history of the LSU women's basketball program to record at least 1,000 career points.
Her career total stands at exactly 1,000 points after her 67 points in three games this season, and she is now behind Staci Brown's 1,016 points for 37th place in the school's record book.

LSU is a storied program with players who have achieved impressive scoring outputs over the years. Joyce Walker holds the scoring record for LSU, with 2,906 points, and ranks 20th on the NCAA's all-time scoring list.
Johnson is just at the start of her third year at the collegiate level and could catch up to some of the greats at LSU if she continues her current scoring pace. Her former teammate Angel Reese finished her career with 1,443 points.

It was a 3-out-of-3 win for the Lady Tigers, who have been consistently dominating their nonconference opponents. Kim Mulkey's team continued to showcase their offensive prowess, scoring 117 points against Charleston Southern.
Flau'jae Johnson once again led the charge, contributing 18 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists. She said post-game,
"I had a double-double so I didn't think I played too bad. I think we let them score a lot, but as a team I feel like everybody did a good job" (1:46).
Asked by a reporter if her intensity has been at a higher level this season, she replied,
"I've just been trying to get after it. I feel like I kind of just got to lead with my energy so I been doing everything just at an intense level, at a high level. That's what I've been doing."
Johnson and LSU will play the Murray State Racers on Friday in Baton Rouge. The team's regular season starts on January 2, 2025, with a trip to Arkansas.
