Yes, Bryce James can dunk well. At 6-foot-4, the younger James sibling is considered the closest to his father, LeBron James, in terms of playing style and prospects in the sport, when compared to his brother Bronny.

The Sierra Canyon junior has had multiple highlight moments, including one from the Section 7 Tournament on Saturday. LeBron and his wife, Savannah, shared a video of their son's left-handed dunk on their Instagram story.

Here is the clip of Bryce's poster dunk:

While comparisons with their father have always existed, most fans and analysts pit the James brothers against each other and oftentimes choose Bryce as the better prospect.

However, Sporting News has assessed the brothers and crowned Bronny as the better NBA player. They wrote that Bryce needs more time to fully grow into his potential:

"Bryce is not the level of athlete of Bronny, but has better NBA size. It has taken him a while to grow into his body. Between the two brothers, Bronny is still the better NBA prospect. Bryce may have a higher ceiling if he can continue to develop his skills, but he has a ways to go in order to catch up."

The 17-year-old still has a few years before his eligibility for the NBA draft. A three-star prospect (per On3), he has received two college offers from Ohio State and Duquesne.

How good is Bryce James as a player?

Bryce is a top-150 prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, with much room for growth in his skill set. He has his moments, like when he scored 21 points and took five rebounds while going 5-for-9 from the three-point line in a Nike EYBL game in May.

However, he is nowhere near the player that his father was at the same age. LeBron James was one of the 41 prospects in NBA history to play for the league straight out of high school.

In their assessment of Bryce, 247Sports wrote:

"Bryce James needs to be given time and space to run his own race, though. He may not be the dynamic athlete or playmaker some expect at first, but he is a fundamentally sound player with solid perimeter size and a good early skill-set.
"He possesses clear shooting potential with naturally soft touch, compact release, and the ability to make both threes and pull-ups. His left hand is advanced for his age and he also has a good early understanding of the game. Physically, he has a solid build for an underclassman, but is still just growing into his body a bit and so far from a finished product."
