After a brief time at Fountain Valley, he transferred to Sage Hill School in Newport Beach, California, where he excelled as a junior. During this time, he averaged 22.1 points, 13.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.9 blocks, and 1.6 steals per game, earning him the Pacific Coast Conference MVP award.
