Great Osobor, Javon Small and Clifford Omoruyi have entered the transfer portal after excellent performances in the 2023-24 season. They aim to enhance their draft prospects and increase their chances of contending for a national title in the upcoming 2024-25 season.
The 6 ft 8 Osobor entered the transfer portal days after guiding Utah State to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The England native averaged 17.7 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.8 blocks while shooting 57.7% to secure the Mountain West Player of the Year award.
Osobor transfer recorded 15 double-doubles, including an astounding 29-point, 17-rebound game against Fresno State in the Mountain West tournament.
On the other hand, Small decided to test the transfer portal waters after his lone season with Oklahoma State. The 6 ft. 3 guard, who spent his first two seasons with East Carolina, excelled in his stint with the Cowboys, averaging 15.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists.
Small became the fifth OSU player to place his name in the portal following Brandon Garrison, Quion Williams, Eric Dailey and Naz Brown.
Last but not least is Omoruyi, who enlisted himself in the transfer portal after spending four seasons with Rutgers. The 6 ft.11 All-Big 10 center was a steady presence in the shaded area for the Scarlet Knights despite struggling to a 15-17 record at the end of the season.
Omoruyi averaged 10.4 ppg, 8.3 rpg and 2.1 bpg and shot 51% from the field as a senior, down from the 13.2 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.1 blocks statline in his junior season.

#3 Javon Small
Small is ranked the eighth-best player in the transfer portal by 247Sports. The point guard had a splendid late-season surge with the Cowboys, where he tallied 17.8 points in his last 11 games. This included a season-high 34 points against BYU in Oklahoma State's regular-season finale.
Small shot 44.1% from the field, 37.4% from 3 and 86.6% from the free-throw line in the 2023-24 season.
Where will Javon Small land?
Small is the top-ranked point guard in the portal and teams looking for a quality playmaker are clamoring to get his services. Among the teams reportedly interested in securing his services are Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Villanova, Kansas, Baylor and Miami.
Small visited Miami recently and the Hurricanes are interested in strengthening their point guard rotation. They plan to have another guard who will help rising stars Nijel Pack, Paul Djobet, Jalil Bethea and Austin Swartz in the backcourt.
Miami can maximize Small's penetration skills if he decides to transfer with the Hurricanes.
#2 Great Osobor
Osobor is one of the highly-touted big men in the transfer portal due to his solid interior presence in offense and defense. He will be an interesting pickup, considering various NCAA teams nowadays have opted for centers that can spread the floor and have the ability to pass.
Where will Great Osobor land?
Osobor is a proto-typical big man, good at protecting the paint and scoring from the inside with excellent proficiency. Kentucky is looking for a solid post player, and is among the teams that expressed interest in acquiring the England native.
Other teams that are looking to land the big man are Washington State, Kansas State, Colorado and Arizona. The Arizona Wildcats is looking to replace Oumar Ballo and are in contention to acquire Osobor.
#1 Clifford Omoruyi
The 6 ft.11 Omoruyi has stayed for four years at Rutgers, looking for a backcourt partner that can help him progress in the NCAA Tournament. However, his four-year stint with the Scarlet Knights did not succeed as planned so he decided to venture into the transfer portal.
Right away, 12 teams have expressed interest in taking the big man out of the portal and the list includes North Carolina, UCLA, Kansas State, Georgia Tech, Georgetown, Baylor, Alabama, Oregon, Washington, Georgia, St. John's and Mississippi State as per CBS Sports college basketball expert Jon Rothstein.
These teams are looking for an athletic big man who can play both sides of the court and provide an anchor for their interior defense.
Where will Clifford Omoruyi land?
There were reports Georgia Tech coach Damon Stoudamire is making a splash by attempting to sign up Omoruyi to the Yellow Jackets. Stoudamire is looking to bounce back from a disappointing 14-18 record last season and getting a big man in Omoruyi would help fill up their need in the frontcourt.
Several days ago, Georgia Tech successfully recruited Javian McCollum, one of the top guards available in the transfer portal. If they get Omoruyi's commitment, expect the Yellow Jackets to climb up the ACC ladder next season.
