
Chance Gray is a collegiate basketball guard for the Ohio State Buckeyes, as of January 2025 and is in her junior year. Gray attended Winton Woods High School for her senior year after her tenure at Lakota West High School for three years of high school. Coming out of high school, Gray, a five-star recruit, was ranked second in point guard position by ESPN. Additionally, the ESPN also ranked her No. 7 overall in the nation in the Class of 2022. She also played in the McDonald’s All-American Game in 2022 and took part in the Jordan Brand Classic. Gray was one of the five finalists up for the Naismith Girls High School Player of the Year award in 2022. As a senior, she bagged the Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year and the Ohio District 16 Player of the Year awards.
Gray averaged 26.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.2 steals per game in 2021-22 which helped her side to reach the regional semifinal appearance. She played in Oregon for her sophomore and freshman years and was selected to USA Basketball’s 2023 Women’s AmeriCup squad. She averaged 1.2 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.3 assists while shooting 27.3 per cent from the field for Team USA at the 2023 FIBA AmeriCup. Following her performance, her nation was able to win a silver medal at the tournament. Gray played 35 games and started all of them in the 2022-23 season. The basketball player averaged 10.3 points, 2.2 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game while shooting 34.2 percent from the field and 33.1 percent from deep. The following year, Gray started 31 games.
