Chris Johnson, born July 13, 2004, is a guard who will play his second season of college basketball with the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks. The 6ft 5inch guard began his collegiate journey with Texas and spent only one season with the program. During his freshman season, Johnson only had 18 points and six assists in 17 games as a rookie. He signed an athletic scholarship agreement with the Texas Longhorns as a late signee in the 2023 recruiting class. He did not see game time in his debut collegiate season and decided to transfer to Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks after a lone season.

In his final year of prep career, Johnson went to the Montverde Academy where he was rated a four-star recruit and was the No.6 player to come out of the state of Texas in the class of 2023. Before signing with Texas, Johnson received offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Creighton, Georgia, Houston, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas A&M among others. During his senior year, he averaged 3.6 assists, 6.0 points, and 2.1 rebounds per game and led the school to a 23-3 overall record. Johnson went to the Fort Bend Elkins High School during his freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons and earned District Newcomer of the Year in his freshman season.
