The Colorado Buffaloes basketball team which represents the University of Colorado in intercollegiate men's basketball has made 16 NCAA tournament runs in its 120-season history. They won their first Pac-12 championship in 2012, their debut campaign as a member.

In terms of conference, the Colorado Buffaloes basketball team competes in the Big-12. After a 13-year stay with the Pac-12 program, CU returned to the Big 12, a conference they had helped with in 1994.

Tad Boyle has been the head coach of the University of Colorado men's basketball team since 2010. Prior to Colorado, he spent four seasons as head coach at Northern Colorado and six seasons as an assistant coach at Wichita State.

He has led Colorado to 27 wins over ranked teams, the most in the team’s history. Boyle has also led the Buffaloes to six NCAA tournament appearances and holds a 59% winning rate.

Associate Head Coach

Mike Rohn is the associate head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes men's basketball team. This will be his 15th season with the Colorado program and was elevated to his current position in 2017. He has been on Boyle’s coaching staff since the very beginning and has helped Colorado with six NCAA Tournament appearances.

Assistant Coach

Bill Grier, Danny Manning and Bill Cartun are three assistant coaches of the Colorado Buffaloes men's basketball team as of 2024.

Bill Grier joined the University of Colorado in 2015 and has led the Buffaloes to 168 wins during his first eight seasons. Previously, Grier spent eight seasons as head coach at San Diego and 15 years as an assistant coach in Gonzaga.

Danny Manning joined the University of Colorado basketball program in 2024 after spending the last two seasons as associate head coach at Louisville. He also has nine years of head coaching experience at Tulsa, Wake Forest and Maryland.

Bill Cartun has entered his 14th year on the Colorado basketball program and was promoted to the assistant coaching position during the 2023/24 season. Before that, Cartun spent 11 seasons as the Director of Operations for the men’s basketball program.
