The next big NBA prospect for the 2025 NBA draft is incoming Duke Blue Devils freshman Cooper Flagg. The forward has a lot of excitement surrounding his abilities. But which teams will likely be in the running to draft Flagg next year?

Cooper Flagg NBA draft 2025 landing spots

Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets have stocked up on draft picks after trading away Mikal Bridges. They possess the Phoenix Suns 2025 draft pick and the Houston Rockets having a pick swap. The incoming bevy of picks also allows the Nets to be aggressive and move up draft boards if they choose. With a roster of fewer players trying to gel, they can lose a lot of games and be in the lottery.

Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards seem focused on the future after moving on from Bradley Beal last offseason. They have added some rookie talent in power forward Alex Sarr and small forward Dillon Jones. This team has some talent but could struggle to win games and will be in the running for Cooper Flagg's services next season.

Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons fired coach Monty Williams and had a stinker of a season. This upcoming season is the final year of Cade Cunningham under contract, and their roster is extremely young. So, they could be in a position where they win less than 20 games once again.

Cooper Flagg paired up with Cunningham, Ausar Thompson and Isaiah Stewart could be a scary core. The team drafted forward Ron Holland II and shooting guard Cam Spencer in the 2024 NBA draft but still are in talent acquisition mode.

Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers have a lot of young talent in a tough Western Conference. So, they can wind up being back in the lottery after having the seventh pick this season.

They drafted center Donovan Clingan, point guard Bub Carrington, point guard Tyler Kilek and power forward Osasere Ighodaro. With a young roster comprising DeAndre Ayton and Anfernee Simons, Flagg would fit in well here.

Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets drafted power forward Tidjane Salaun and guard KJ Simpson this year. However, this team is still a bit away from being a contender for a playoff spot.

LaMelo Ball has not been healthy the last few years, so that will be tough to see success. This means they will be toward the top of the NBA draft again and can be a young team for Flagg to join.
