Courtney Banghart is an American college basketball coach who has been in the realm of the North Carolina women’s basketball team for the past five seasons. Her coaching journey started at her alma mater Dartmouth where she led the program to two Ivy League championships and two NCAA appearances in 2005 and 2006. Banghart was inducted into the Dartmouth College Hall of Fame in 2004.

Banghart's career took a significant turn when she started her head coaching role at Princeton in 2007. In 12 seasons, she transformed the program into a Division I powerhouse and became the winningest coach in the program’s history. She led the program to seven Ivy League regular season titles and eight NCAA Tournament appearances. During the 2014-15 season, she led the Tigers to a 31-1 record and was named the 2015 Naismith National Coach of the Year. After 12 illustrious seasons with Princeton, Banghart embarked on her next journey as the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels women’s basketball program in 2019. In the past five seasons, she has led the Tar Heels to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances. Banghart enters her sixth season at Chapel Hill after signing a five-year contract extension in 2023.
