Curtis Williams attended Brother Rice High School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where he began his basketball prep career. During his high school senior year, he averaged 16.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game, leading his team to a 22-2 record. His performance earned him recognition as a runner-up for Michigan's prestigious Mr. Basketball Award in 2023, highlighting his status among the top players in the state. Williams secured Brother Rice's first outright Catholic High School League (CHSL) Central Division title since 1996 and their first tournament championship since 1990. During his junior year, he recorded averages of 16.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. He also shot 39% from beyond the arc and received First Team All-CHSL honors.

Following his successful high school tenure, Curtis Williams committed to play for the University of Louisville. In his freshman season in 2023-24, he appeared in all 32 games, starting in four of them. The same year, he also averaged 5.3 points and 1.3 rebounds per game while shooting 31.7% from the field and 71.4% from the free-throw line. A notable highlight of his freshman year was scoring a career-high 19 points against Florida State. In 2024, Williams transferred to Georgetown University, where he plays under the Hoyas' coaching staff.
